The role of environmental factors

The physical and social environment and the organization in which clients live can have a positive or negative impact on their well-being and therefore cause and intensify pain and sorrow.

We define 'environmental factors' as the physical environment, such as the home, the workplace and the school. Are they are appropriate for the care and/or support requirements, is the room suitable for the client, are the lighting and acoustics good, is the temperature right, is it quiet enough, are there enough contacts, are suitable aids available, etc. 41 . We define 'organization' as, among other things, the vision, the human resources policy and the training.
